PE Water Tank Welding Guide: Procedures for Pipes, Fittings & Reinforcement
For pipes of different diameters on the tank body, you can choose to use a hot air gun + tacking nozzle + quick round speed nozzle for riveting
An extrusion welding gun and a V-shaped welding shoe are then used for reinforcement. Depending on the thickness of the sheet, select K8/10, K15, K20, or K30..
The welding process for the top and side fixings, handles, and handrails of the tank body is the same as above.
Before welding, the locations of the various interfaces need to be determined.
1. Create a 3D model to confirm all dimensions.
2. Prepare a CAD drawing and process the product.
Drilling points must be manually marked during the actual production process.
3.Material Selection: Choose the sheet thickness and pipe and fitting dimensions based on the container size
The extended PE pipes and fittings are butt-fused. A butt fusion welding machine (manual, hydraulic or IR welding) is used.
Square water tank production process:
1.Material selection: Choose sheet thickness and pipe and fitting dimensions based on the container size and application.
2. There are two methods for welding the main water tank:
a. Manual welding using a hot air gun and an extrusion welding gun
(This requires experienced and well-mannered welders, as manual welding takes longer.)
b. Vertical/bend welding
Compared to manual welding, vertical or bend welding significantly improves work efficiency, saves labor costs, and helps welders maintain a positive attitude while working.
3. Pipes and Fittings on the Box
For pipes with a diameter less than 63mm, welders will typically drill holes directly on the sheet metal according to the pipe diameter and weld using a hot air gun, a tacking nozzle, and a round speed nozzle.
(A socket fusion machine is recommended, as specialized pipe welding machines can provide a more precise and aesthetically pleasing weld.)
4. Reinforcement Ribs
These protruding parts are fixed to the outside of the box.
Their function: to ensure the box withstands pressure and resists deformation.
Welding Method: Hot air gun + extrusion welding gun
Water baffle welding
The contact surface is reinforced with a hot air gun, a tacking nozzle, and a round speed nozzle. Rivets are then applied. An extrusion welding gun and a V-shaped welding shoe are then used for reinforcement. Depending on the thickness of the sheet, select K8/10, K15, K20, or K30.
